• The Setting A New Direction process took place in 2021 to identfity district priorities and led to the proposal the 2021 Operating Levy Referendum

  •

  • “The community voted and now it’s time to set a new direction for our schools. We are at a financial crossroads and looking to you, our community, for feedback about priorities. With the failure of the 2020 referendum, and without additional revenue, a significant reduction of over $1.2 million of our general fund budget for the current and upcoming school year was necessary which will result in reduced programming and increased class sizes. These cuts are a temporary fix. We need a long-term plan to avoid further significant reductions. Please join us in one of our community meetings. We look forward to engaging with you.” - Lucinda Dahlberg, School Board Chair

  • Welcome to the New London-Spicer Public Schools Setting A New Direction page. This page will be a resource to update the New London-Spicer community about the state of the district, its financial health, and ways that you can get involved. Like many school districts across Minnesota, New London-Spicer continues to face financial challenges. We are in the process of gathering feedback from our community on our situation and work together to figure out the best way to address these challenges.
