Safe Return to Learn Plan

  • Late last spring, the school district was required to have a Safe Return to Learn Plan for the 2021-2022 school year completed by the end of June. Development of that plan required providing an opportunity for our staff and families to provide feedback. The school district used that feedback and current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control to make revisions.

  • For in-depth plans please click here. Highlights of the plan include the following:

    • Face masks are strongly recommended but not required except for on school buses and in school vehicles.
    • Social distancing will be practiced to the extent possible.
    • The district will continue to practice handwashing, respiratory hygiene, and effective cleaning practices.
    • Positive cases of COVID-19 will be asked to stay at home in consultation with the school nurse.
    • Students staying at home due to a positive case of COVID-19 can access classroom materials through Schoology (5-12) or SeeSaw (PreK-4).
    • Family self-health screening is required using this screening tool.
    • Parents or guardians of children with disabilities seeking accommodations concerning health and safety should be in direct contact with their child’s case manager.
    • The district is not providing a local Distance Learning option this year. However, families that are looking for opportunities should consider contacting their child’s building administrator.
    • The district will monitor guidance and make adjustments when determined necessary in collaboration with federal, state, and local health officials.
    • The District must review this plan before January 1, 2022, and the District will provide any additional changes or feedback for public comment.
