A Message From Our Superintendent:
Welcome to our new, improved, and mobile intuitive website! We have streamlined navigation to assist visitors in more easily finding information important to them.
We are a Pre-K-12 school district serving an estimated 10,000 residents from the communities of New London and Spicer. Students attend school at one of four sites: Prairie Meadows Learning Center in Spicer, Prairie Woods Elementary, New London-Spicer Middle School, and New London-Spicer High School in New London. The district is 166 square miles with a student population of 1,494. New London-Spicer Schools employs 116 certified teachers, the district also employs 89 educational support personnel included in the 215 employees.
Our long history of academic success is directly connected to a dedicated and talented staff, innovative school leadership, a devoted board of education, active and strong parental involvement, and a supportive and generous community. All of our schools value a system of continuous improvement that permeates from every aspect of its work showing focus on educational excellence. We continue to be committed to providing challenging curriculum, skilled instruction, and a learning environment that responds to individual student academic needs. Our efforts are guided by research and the belief that every student is capable of attaining educational achievement in preparation for meeting the rigorous demands of the World’s Best Workforce.
Our work requires collaboration amongst teams and shared leadership toward the mission, vision, values and goals of our district. As we begin the second half of the 2016-2017 school year we will embark on a journey setting the course for the future through a strategic planning process. This requires the assembly of a team including; students, parents, teachers, community members, administrators, and school board members. Working together they will answer questions such as: What will the future look like in 5 years? What will the New London-Spicer School District need to do to succeed? How will we know if we have been successful? What challenges we will be facing? Will we be ready for those challenges? What does the desired “future state” of our district look like five years from now? How will we systemically transform our District from good to great?
Our staff and stakeholders are pivotal to assuring our success with the Strategic Plan process and in accomplishing all that we set out to do in the next five years. A survey will be available on March 27, 2017 to begin to gather stakeholder input. The first “Listening Session” with the community will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 6:00 p.m. in the High School/Middle School Media Center. Additional information on the strategic planning process will be coming out soon.
Please contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 320-354-1401, if you wish to be a part of the Strategic Planning Committee. I would be happy to answer your questions or share more information regarding the New London-Spicer School District.
