Feedback Requested Regarding NL-S Superintendent Search

To:  All interested persons in the New London-Spicer Public School District
From: Robert Moller, School Board Chair

We have been most fortunate to enjoy the great leadership of Superintendent Paul Carlson for many years now. You may be aware that Paul will retire at the end of this school year. As such, the Board has initiated a search for a new leader and we are counting on you to help us with the process.
In an effort to gather as much feedback on what we need in a new leader as well as to identify what people here think the new superintendent should focus on during the first couple of years of service, we have developed a brief survey on these things. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts with us through the survey link below by Friday, Dec. 21, 2018.

Survey Link:

In early January, we intend to convene some discussion groups with staff, administrative, and citizen stakeholders to discuss the search and to identify the characteristics we should seek in the new leader. By mid-January, we will begin to sort through applications for the position. Interviews are scheduled for late January and we expect to include representatives from these stakeholder groups as well as the survey data in the interview process. It is our hope that we can have identified and hired our new superintendent by the middle of February. That person will begin on or about July 1.

Thanks in advance for your feedback into our search process. Thanks for your ongoing support for our great district. We all look forward to the next chapter in our ongoing story of success.

Robert Moller, NL-S School Board Chair
