NLS Seventh Graders Placed in the Annual SWWC Creative Writing Contest

Two NLS seventh graders placed in the annual SWWC Creative Writing Contest. In the 7th-8th grade division, Madeline Prentice received a Third Place Award in Poetry and Evie Simpson was awarded First Place in Fiction.

A virtual Awards Ceremony was held on Sunday, April 18th, hosted by SMSU Creative Writing Department who partner with SWWC to make this event possible. This program was established to encourage the love of language and writing and to recognize talented young writers.

NLS students met weekly in an extra-curricular class in the fall and winter, practicing writing skills and crafting short stories. In addition to the place winners, the following students also submitted excellent narratives: Brooklyn Behne, Addison Buboltz, Asher King, Saige Klever, Garret Leenstra, Lily Olson, Jaclyn Renstrom, Carson Smith, Morgan Thein, and Averie Turner.
