The NLS Educational Foundation Awarded $2,500

The New London-Spicer Educational Foundation Awarded $2,500 to Kari Lindquist-Weber, High School Art Instructor for her grant titled, "Mural Artist-in-Residence." This grant will allow the High School Visual Arts Department to hire freelance graphic designer and mural artist, Kristin Allen, as a resident artist for one week during the 2023-24 school year. During this time, a mural in the Performing Arts Center Commons Area will be completed that celebrates a variety of programming offered at NLS. The theme of this work will be Fine Arts, with graphics developed by students. New London-Spicer High School's Studio Art Class will be involved in the project and students Genevieve Baumann and Aleigha Gehrke have agreed to be student leaders. The large gray wall by the Middle School/High School cascading staircase will soon highlight and promote the Fine Arts Department to the public!
